Join the Dope Girl Movement with Kisha Vaughan

Dope Girl Movement’s mission is to elevate and redefine perceptions of hip hop dance within Seattle’s cultural landscape. We create platforms to showcase the artistic essence of hip hop dance, celebrating its uniqueness while providing local hip hop dancers visibility and professional opportunities. Our vision is to honor hip hop dance's culture as a creative outlet for self expression and identity for marginalized urban populations and, in doing this, to challenge established notions of hip hop dance as “street level” and lacking skill. Hip hop dancers deserve the same level of professional opportunities and support as other forms of dance in our community. Dope Girl Movement’s goal is to raise the art form’s profile by providing local hip hop dancers compensated opportunities to perform in professional settings with comprehensive production support. We also advocate for fair wages to help hip hop dancers live, work, and thrive in our community.

Booties & Bottles

We are seeking donations of items, services, gift cards, and packages to use for raffle prizes, VIP goody bags, and a silent auction for our upcoming BOOTIES & BOTTLES fundraising events. BOOTIES & BOTTLES is a joy-filled night of dancing, drinks, and fun. The highlight of each event features Dope Girl Movement's Creative Director, Kisha Vaughan, teaching the attendees a dope hip hop routine.

Proceeds generated from our fundraising events will directly support two projects produced by Dope Girl Movement in 2024 -- a hip hop dance show called HOUSE PARTY on July 12 & 13 at MOB Studios, a recording studio located in Seattle's SODO neighborhood -- and a new hip hop roaming dance installation for Bumbershoot Arts & Music Festival on Aug 31 & Sept 1. Compensating our diverse squad of talented Black/African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, and LGBTQIA+ artists involved in these projects for their time and expertise is our top priority.

As a thank you for your contribution, your name and/or company name and logo will be featured on our website, social media, and digital project programs.

Thank you for your support!
